Habilidades sociais e criatividade: uma análise de regressão logística múltipla com amostra de estudantes de engenharia

Abstract

A capacidade de se relacionar socialmente é importante para a criatividade, pois o processo de criação pode exigir períodos de trabalhos isolados e momentos em que trocas sociais são incentivadoras ao debate de ideia. Aspectos pessoais, sociais e culturais interagem entre si e podem estimular ou bloquear a criatividade. Nessa perspectiva, as habilidades sociais têm um papel importante para a criatividade. Contudo, faltam estudos no contexto brasileiro que investiguem conjuntamente repertório de habilidades sociais e barreiras à criatividade, assim como há escassez de estudos nessas áreas aplicados ao contexto de estudantes de engenharia. O curso de engenharia vem passando por reformulações na busca por currículos mais alinhados com o mundo do trabalho, capaz de desenvolver diferentes habilidades. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a influência do repertório de habilidades sociais sobre a percepção de barreiras à criatividade de estudantes universitários de engenharia. Participaram deste estudo 390 estudantes de engenharia (306 do gênero masculino e 84 do gênero feminino), que preencheram dois instrumentos: Inventário de Barreiras à Criatividade Pessoal e Inventário de Habilidades Sociais. Por meio da técnica de regressão logística múltipla, a variável resposta (se concordam ou não com fatores que refletem barreiras à criatividade) foi explicada levando em consideração as variáveis preditoras: repertório de habilidades socais. Os principais resultados sugerem que as habilidades sociais de Autocontrole/Enfrentamento influenciaram a percepção dos participantes da pesquisa em relação as barreiras de Inibição/Timidez e Falta de Motivação. As habilidades sociais de Conversação Assertiva, Abordagem Afetivo-Sexual, Expressão de Sentimento Positivo e Desenvoltura Social não influenciaram a percepção de nenhuma das barreiras da criatividade para a amostra investigada. Com esses resultados, foram discutidas possibilidades de intervenção com o intuito de desenvolver habilidades sociais, especialmente de autocontrole e enfrentamento, e promover a expressão da criatividade dos estudantes no decorrer do curso de engenharia. Personal, social and cultural aspects interact with each other and can stimulate or block creativity. From this perspective, social skills have a important role for creativity. Using the logistic regression technique multiple, the response variable (whether or not they agree with factors that reflect barriers to creativity) was explained taking into account the variables predictors: repertoire of social skills. The main results suggest that the social skills of Self-Control/Coping influenced the perception of research participants in relation to barriers to Inhibition/Shyness and Lack of Motivation. Conversational social skills Assertive, Affective-Sexual Approach, Expression of Positive Feelings and Social Resourcefulness did not influence the perception of any of the barriers of creativity for the investigated sample. With these results, possibilities of intervention were discussed with the aim of developing social skills, especially self-control and coping, and promote the expression of students' creativity during the course of engineering.
