Estudo sobre a implantação da logística reversa como fluxo logístico para descarte de pneus inservíveis: um estudo de caso

Abstract

The Reverse logistics is the process of returning products to their point of origin for reuse and/or recycle. Reverse logistics is an element that can contribute significantly to sustainable development, so it has been used by many organizations with a strategic vision to reduce environmental and social impacts of their activities. One of these organizations is the one that was object of this research (Company X), which is concerned with the impact caused by the improper disposal of its product at the end of life. Therefore, this study aimed to identify if there are factors of resistance to the implementation of reverse logistics for scrap tires in a company located at state of Bahia, the Company X. The specific objectives are to describe how is the reverse logistics process of scrap tires in Brazil; present the actual laws referring to the disposal and recycling of tires; show how important is the reverse logistics in the process of waste disposal for tires and to know how the Company X uses the reverse logistics in the disposal of waste tires. To do the research it was used as methods the bibliographic review and case study, through the questionnaires distributed between some employees from the Company X and an interview with the sector responsible for security and environmental at this company. Analyzing all the data obtained from in theoretical research and interviews, we conclude that there is no resistance factor to the reverse logistics flow of waste tires at Company X.
